Sam
Are We Human or Are we Dancer?
Isa says we have to blog about our nicknames. I have many nicknames. Sam, Sammyboy, Samingo, Same, Crazy Legs, and.... Samantha. Not so proud about that last one. Well I guess there is some pretty cute Samanthas out there and I'm one of them.
- Sam- My main nickname. This is usually what people call me. I'm not sure where it originated but it is a classic.
- Sammyboy- Some people just have the urge to call me this. Whether it is a cute 17 year old senior from Bonneville or a hairy jock from West Jefferson.
- Samingo- My dad is the only one who calls me this name. I think maybe we were at the zoo and I was looking at the flamingos. Samingo, Flamingo, maybe? This was also part of my first email.
- Same- How some people (girls in particular) pronounce my name. I believe it is from a movie. Saaaame. It sounds kind of like that. Sometimes this is cute and sometimes it is rather annoying. I guess it depends on the girl who is calling me it.
- Crazy Legs- Back in the day I played 21 every Tuesday in mutual. I was not very skilled offensively but my definsive skills were unmatched. I got in faces, I casted spells, I sang distractively, I kicked, punched, kamehamehad, and was all over the court. I was a blur of motion and randomness. For this I was given the nickname Crazy Legs. Good times.
- Samantha- Nuff said.
By the way the title of this blog is the line from an excellent song, Human by the Killers. It has deep, thought provocing lyrics and a catchy synth line. The Killers are quite a band. But back to nicknames. Sometimes you may wish you have a certain nickname. But usually you cannot ask for a nickname you must receive it. Well whatever you want to call yourself. Reader, whom-it-may-concern, Rea9der (the 9 is slient) till the next blog.
Klurisa
Who am I?
Blog blog blog, bloggidy blog blog blog.Today we are blogging about nicknames. Sometimes I feel as if I lose a piece of my identity with each nickname I receive and discover a new me.
My first nickname,Ris, came about at a young age because my name was difficult for some people to say. Sometimes it is lengthened into Risa. One of my cousins would call me Risa Roo. It made me feel as if I was a character in Winny the Pooh. Risa Roo is no longer used regulary but Ris and Risa are still names I get called on a regular bases.
Charlie Brown, that be me!(: My sisters and I all have interesting nicknames and they don't really make sense. Kalesta''s is Paris, Kaysha's is Vern and mine is Charlie Brown. I often get called Charlie.(: Potatoes Forever! It's a sister thing you guys would not understand.
I babysit often and love little kids. My name is hard for most little kids so what do I get? Nicknames. Kissa is one that came from little miss Kenzi! She is my old babysitters daughter. Love her to death. Speaking of my old babysitter she gave me a nickname when I was just a wee child. Slobber. I am so greatful this nickname was grown out of. I guess that when she would hold me I would slobber on her watch. Yum! haha.
Kissa... When I went to YASE my friend Jessica decided to use this nickname. It is used as Kissa Girl or my Love Kissa. Or just Kissa. She didn't know that I had already been calles this so it's interesting to me she also came up with this.
Elementary and Junior High are rough years. Kids are brutal. Ok now that I look back its not that bad but i thought it was horrible at the time. Some boys decided to call me Klorox. Weird. But it kinda fits now. I am kind of a germaphobe. Maybe they should have called me Mrs. Clean. But that is weird becasue I am not married. We will stick with Klorox. Some days they still call me that. Some people just never grow up;)
Recently I have received new nicknames. My friends from Wizard of Oz have added to my list. Kluey is one that came about first. Gina came up with that one. Not sure where but all well. I think she may be the only person who calls me that besides those who are teasing me. My dearest McKell now calls me K. Along with Mr. Sean Harker. Just easier in texting I guess. Another one that is sometimes used is Miss K.
Do names really count as nicknames if they are longer than your original name? I'm not sure but if so in Junior High Camry added like 10 names to my name. Klurisa Josiphine is what i remember. There were many follwoing but Klurisa Josiphine stuck. I wish sometimes I had a middle name. People ask me what my middle name is and I just want to make one up. But I can't becasue then I would be lying. And lying is not nice.
As Sam and I were chatting about our topic he came up with some new ones. Kluri, Luri, Urisa, and Isa. Isa is different but i'm slightly a fan. Makes me feel... like a VAMPIRE! Ok not really but I forgot what my first thoughts were when he said it. It's said like EEESA. Kinda weird but exotic.
I know I am missing some names but maybe as I remember them I will add them to my other blogs. But as of right now that is the end of my list of names. Enjoy.
